Bronx Park East
Bronx, NY (2007 - 2010)
This 69 unit residence is sited on a tight trapezoidal site facing Bronx Park and the Bronx Botanical Gardens. The public rooms of the building are stacked at the street edge in a five-story 'pavilion' facing the park, while the 69 studio units are placed in a higher volume set back from the street. The west-facing streetwall volume contains offices, gymnasium, laundry and double height community room leading to a terrace overlooking the park. A courtyard is set between both volumes, and a generous garden is configured at the rear of the site.
